Afternoon Antiques

First day of summer: Antique shopping with friends. We were 'ladies what lunch'.
(All photos were taken with my Sony Xperia phone therefore quality isn't as good as I'd like- camera needed!)
Monday; I got the bus to a little town, 20 minutes from where I live and met my friends. After a major gossip, we wandered down to the Antique shop hidden behind the main street shops. I was on a quest to find the 1920s vintage vogue cover my mum had discovered the week before. Having failed that, we explored every room in that wondrous building. We came across everything from gorgeous fur coats to classic vinyls and vintage comic books, stunning rustic furniture to awe-inspiring jewelry. It was splendid!

I absolutely loved this black and white dress and thought it would be perfect for a unique look at prom.

This ankle length, midnight blue dress was made of glorious velvet and the sparkles and pearls embroidery around the neck line was lovely. I instantly imagined this as a stunning mother of the bride dress.

This dress was my favorite. The pale turquoise and textured gold fabric reminded me a little of jasmine from Aladdin. It was the high neckline that made this dress for me - so dashing!

After a tasty vegetable soup and with some time to spare, we sauntered down the hill and decided to have a look in a couple of the charity shops. In 'The British Red Cross' shop, I came across this lovely button down dress. Knowing I wouldn't wear it at the length it was, I cut it as soon as I got home and after perhaps cutting it a little too short whilst attempting to get an even length, I sewed the hem and it was done! (excuse the socks)
All round successful day!

Hello!

Hello! I'm Ellie. Presently, I'm doing my GCSE's. In my spare time, you will find me playing my piano or clarinet, spending countless hours on tumblr, lunging, squatting or browsing through rails and rails of local charity shops in the hope of finding a garment to customize on my sewing machine! Unfortunately, the choice of clothing at my local charity shops are limited as I live in a small town in Wales, however I'm hoping there'll be plenty of second hand shopping opportunities when I move to London so optimistic thinking!
When I do leave school, the action plan is; a Fashion degree/diploma in university, an editorial styling course at LCS (serious optimism!) and then interning, interning, interning! My ultimate dream would be to work for a high fashion magazine as an editorial stylist; working with models and in a job that requires ceaseless creativity would be bliss!
Anyhow, the reason I'm starting this blog is because it's something I've wanted to do for a while now and now it's the summer holidays, that means heaps of days off school = loads of outfits to share!
I'm not entirely sure what to put in the 'About me' section yet so I thought I'd tell you my...
